How to set up your Dial 9 voicemail
What is voicemail?
Voicemail is a service that allows callers to leave you recorded messages when you are unavailable.
Voicemail messages can be e-mailed to you, you can listen to them through the Dial 9 Connect interface, dial *55 from your phone, or, if configured press the voicemail message shortcut key.
Setting up a voicemail box
To set up a new voicemail box you will need to log into the Dial 9 Portal.
If you are not familiar with this process a guide for logging into the Dial 9 Portal can be found Here.
Once you've logged into your account, head to the Voicemail Boxes page via the Extensions tab at the top of the screen, then click the Create a new voicemail box button on the right hand side of the page.
Enter a name for your voicemail box, followed by a number (this just needs to be a short 3 or 4 digit number), passcode and email address.
If you wish to apply a greeting, you can select one from the list, or upload a custom audio file. We have a guide for managing greetings that you can find here.
If a greeting is added, it's recommended that you disable the Play instructions? option. Finally, enter a Maximum message length (in seconds) if you wish to limit how long messages can be, then click Save to finish.
Applying your voicemail box
Your voicemail box can be used as a destination for almost all other features in your service, whether that's a unanswered timeout on an extension, or an out of hours time based route. Look for the Destination area when updating another feature, and select Leave a message on the left, followed by the voicemail box on the right.
