How to create a voice greeting
What are greetings?
You can record & upload files which can be used throughout your phone system in various ways. For example, when a menu is accessed or as a voicemail greeting. You can also generate your own greetings by simply entering your script.
Creating and editing greetings
To create a custom greeting you will need to log into the Dial 9 Portal.
If you are not familiar with this process a guide for logging into the Dial 9 Portal can be found Here.
Once you are logged into Dial 9 Connect you will select the option for Features > Greetings
In Greetings you will have the ability to create a new text-to-speech greeting, upload a greeting and edit existing greetings.
Text to speech
To use the text to speech feature you will need to type your greeting into the text box available, select your required voice and press Preview.
Once you are happy with your greeting just enter a name for the greeting and press Save greeting. If you wish to edit the greeting just press Make changes.
Upload a greeting
You can upload MP3 or WAV files here. We recommend WAV files (8bit, 8000Hz mono) for audio that sounds best when played down a telephone.
To upload a pre-recorded greeting simply select the Upload your own file option on the right of the screen.
You will now need to browse your computer, select the file to use and press open.
The file will now be uploaded to the system.
The time to upload will depend on file size and internet speed.
Editing a greeting
Once a greeting has been added to the system you have the options to play the file, download the file or delete the file.
